What the work is

Companies that build AI models want them to handle real professional work. To get there, they need people who do that work every day to test the models and correct them.

The projects on this page come from one platform: a US company that engages specialists as independent contractors to train and test AI models. We'll tell you its name in the call.

  1. 1. The model gives an answer.

An AI model answers a question from your field. It sounds confident. It is not always right.

  2. 2. You judge it.

You check the answer, find the mistakes only someone with your training would notice, and explain what is correct. You also write hard questions, ideal answers and clear grading criteria.

  3. 3. The next version gets better.

The teams building the model use your work to train and test it. You work remotely, on your own laptop, as an independent contractor.

What this looks like in practice

Finance

An investment banker checks an AI-built valuation model, finds the weak assumptions and explains how each one changes the result.

Software and data

A software engineer writes realistic coding tasks for an AI model and builds the tests that tell a correct fix from a broken one.

Research

A physicist with a PhD solves hard problems from their own specialty and writes out every step, so there is a verified answer to test the model against.

Engineering

An aerospace engineer reviews an AI's answer on a flow simulation and checks whether the result holds up physically.

Dentistry

A dentist reviews treatment plans and dental images and flags where the AI's assessment is clinically wrong.

How it works

Three steps. At each one, you decide whether to continue.

  1. 1. The quiz

    about a minute

A few short questions about your field, experience, qualification, country, English and whether you've used a platform like this before. Then your contact details and a time for the call. No CV needed to book.

  2. 2. The call

    15 minutes

A video call with Elwin or Jonas. Please join from a laptop. We'll tell you the platform's name and make sure you don't already have an account or application there. Then we'll go through the current listings that fit you, talk about requirements and the hourly rate to ask for, and choose a role together. If you want to go ahead, we'll ask for your consent to refer you.

  3. 3. Apply right after the call

    about 15 minutes

If a role fits, we email you your personal link to it and you apply right there: you open it on your own device, sign up and submit your application while we stay on the call with you, so please keep about 15 minutes free afterward. We never see your passwords or login codes. The recorded AI interview can follow right away or later. Per the platform, it takes 20 to 40 minutes. After that, the platform checks your identity and reviews your profile, which can take up to 30 days.

Questions and answers

Is this legitimate?

Yes. The platform is a US company that engages specialists as independent contractors for projects that train and test AI models. We'll tell you its name in the call, before you sign up anywhere, and show you its current listings. You decide whether to apply. We never charge you. We never ask for your ID, bank details or passwords. Be careful with anyone who does.

Who are Elwin and Jonas?

Elwin and Jonas lead the calls. Together with Oskar, they run Pregola from Hamburg, Germany.

What does it cost?

Nothing. The quiz, the call and our help with your application are free. We charge you nothing, now or later.

If it's free for me, how is this paid for?

Through a referral fee. If you apply through the personal link of the person who led your call, are selected and work paid hours, the platform pays that person a referral fee. It costs you nothing, and you choose the role you apply for.

How we're paid

Why don't you name the platform here?

We'll tell you the platform's name and the listings that fit you in the call, before you sign up anywhere. The reason is practical. The platform only counts a referral if you apply through the personal link of the person you spoke with. An application you make on your own beforehand can't be linked later. That's why the quiz asks whether you've already been in touch with a platform like this. It also helps you: in the call, you'll see which listings are actually open to you before you spend an interview on one. The end client of each project is confidential too. Per the platform, you learn it after onboarding.

Do I need AI or technical skills?

Usually not. Most current listings say your field knowledge is what counts, not AI experience. You should be comfortable working on a laptop with online tools. Some roles in software, data and engineering expect coding, and a few ask for earlier experience with AI data work. We'll check this with you in the call.

Can you promise me a project?

No. Neither we nor the platform can promise you a project. After you apply, there's a recorded AI interview of 20 to 40 minutes, per the platform, and an identity check. A good interview is not an offer. The platform decides based on project needs, and its review can take up to 30 days. If you're selected, a contract, identity and background checks and onboarding follow. That's why we aim for the roles where your profile fits best.

How much time does it take?

Per the platform, most projects expect about 15 to 20 hours a week, depending on the client. You choose when you work, as far as the project allows. Some projects want you to start within a day or two of onboarding. Projects are fixed-term and depend on the client's needs, so treat this as extra income, not a steady one.

Can I do this alongside my job?

Yes. The platform says so explicitly. It's up to you to check whether your employment contract or professional rules allow side work. You never use confidential information from clients, patients or your employer. The work relies on your expertise alone.

How am I paid, and what about taxes?

You work as an independent contractor, not as an employee. Per the platform, you are paid in USD twice a month through a payroll provider. Work from the 1st to the 15th is paid around the 20th, later work around the 5th of the following month. Some projects pay per approved task instead of per hour. The listing and your contract say which, so read the contract before you sign. You're responsible for your own taxes and insurance. We don't give individual tax advice, so please speak to a tax advisor.

Do I need to speak English?

Yes. The application, the AI interview and the work itself are in English. Some listings name a minimum level, such as B2 or C1. What you're paid for is your expertise, not the language.

What happens to my data?

We use your answers and contact details to prepare and hold your call and, if you agree to be referred, to send your link and follow your application status for the referral fee. We don't pass them to the platform. If you decide to apply, you sign up there yourself, through the link. You can ask us to delete your data at any time. If you apply, the platform records its AI interview. Per its privacy notice, it may use de-identified interview data to improve its own models, and you can opt out. We'll show you where in the call. The platform runs its identity check through a specialist provider, and we never see your documents. Details are in our privacy policy.

What if nothing fits?

Then we'll tell you so in the call, plainly. Not every field has open listings for experienced professionals in Europe at any given time. Listings change daily, so if you'd like, we can email you when something in your field opens up. If your quiz answers already show that nothing fits right now, you can leave just your email for that.
